FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Installation & Hardware
Do I need a specialist engineer to install the kit? No. We have specifically designed our kits to be installed by any qualified local electrician. By following the included wiring diagrams, a standard installation usually takes less than an hour. This ensures you maintain control over your site labour costs and stay within your internal maintenance budgets.
What are "Split-Core CT Clamps" and why are they in the Industrial Kit? In the £949 Industrial Kit, we provide split-core Current Transformers (CTs). These are sensors that clip around your existing heavy-duty cables. Unlike standard meters, they do not require you to cut the wires or power down your machinery, making them the ideal "non-intrusive" choice for busy 3-phase sites.
⭐ Will the CT clamps fit my heavy industrial cables? Yes. At checkout, you can select the clamp size that best matches your site. Choose our Standard 24mm clamps (up to 100A), or select our High-Aperture 36mm clamps (rated up to 400A) at no extra cost, ensuring they comfortably fit around thick Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) cables.
Is the hardware "Bank-Ready"? Yes. Both kits utilise MID-certified (Measuring Instruments Directive) meters. This is the legal standard required in the UK for billing and official carbon reporting. Data from non-MID meters may be rejected by auditors or banks during ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reviews.
Connectivity & Security
How secure is the 4G/LTE Gateway? The £949 Industrial Kit is our most secure option because it is IT-independent. It uses an encrypted 4G/LTE mobile network to transmit data directly to our servers, completely bypassing your company’s internal Wi-Fi or LAN. This means there is zero risk to your internal network and no need for firewall configuration.
What happens if my Wi-Fi goes down (Starter Kit)? The £349 Starter Kit will continue to count your energy usage locally on the meter. Once your Wi-Fi connection is restored, the data will sync with your app. However, for 100% uptime in areas with poor connectivity or strict IT policies, we recommend the 4G/LTE Industrial Kit.
Carbon Reporting & Compliance
How accurate is the Carbon Audit Tool? Our calculator uses the latest UK Government GHG Conversion Factors (2026/27). These are the official figures used to calculate the carbon intensity of the UK electricity grid. We update our templates annually to ensure your reports remain compliant with the latest SECR, ESOS, and supply chain standards.
What if I have Solar Panels or a Renewable Energy Tariff? Our meters are bi-directional and can track micro-generation (solar/wind). If you are on a verified 100% renewable tariff, your "market-based" carbon footprint may be zero. Our audit tool allows you to note these specific details for your final report.
⭐ Will this satisfy my supply chain's Scope 3 reporting requests? Yes. If you are a subcontractor for a Tier-1 business (like the NHS, Tesco, or Amazon), they are legally required to report their "Scope 3" emissions, which includes your business. Our bank-ready PDFs provide the exact MID-certified data they need to keep you on their approved vendor list.
Costs & Subscriptions
Are there any hidden monthly fees?
- Industrial Kit: No. Your £949 payment covers the hardware, the mobile data, and the managed Concierge service for a full 12-month reporting cycle.
- Starter Kit: No. Your £349 payment includes the hardware and your first 12 months of app access. After the first year, a small renewal fee (approx. £12/year) is payable directly to the app provider to keep your cloud sync active.
⭐ What happens after the 12-month Industrial Concierge service ends? Our goal is to make your carbon compliance as effortless as possible. At the end of your first year, you are completely free to evaluate the service. Should you wish to maintain your fully automated monthly reporting, you can opt to renew the Concierge service for just £299 per annum. This single payment covers all ongoing 4G data, UK-based hosting, and system updates. You remain in complete control: there are no hidden tie-ins, and you only choose to renew if the service is actively working well for you.
